Who Gets the Most “Gushing Praise”—And Why Is It So Rare?
By HK Lawyer AJ Halkes Barrister-at-Law
Reading about Qatar Airways receiving “the most gushing praise” got me thinking—when was the last time I felt that way about a retail or consumer experience?
One place immediately came to mind: Momotaro Jeans in Tokyo. (https://momotaro-jeans.com ) not so long ago.
MOMOTARO JEANS AOYAMA, Ao Bldg 2F, 3-11-7 Kita-aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo 107-0061. TEL: 03-6427-9721
11:00 – 20:00 *Open every day except during the year-end
I went there looking for jeans built to last a decade or more, and what I got was an exceptional experience that fit the “gushing praise” description perfectly.
The team at Momotaro Jeans Aoyama went above and beyond—not just in service but in genuine care and passion for their craft. They took the time to guide me through sizing, choices, and even leg length trimming. No small feat if cycling has added a few cm here and there making choice a bit challenging.
This small but dedicated denim business reminds me of the early days of Evisu and 45rpm—before their global expansion.
I didn’t go for their top-of-the-line items (next trip perhaps) and picked a great pair of jeans that I fully expect to still be wearing 20 years from now.
Exceptional craftsmanship and service worthy of gushing praise; from caring about the customer and having a product worth believing in.
When was the last time you had a consumer experience that left you raving enough to care to post about it though .. is it now that rare?
